Eagle homes are built on bigger lots with bigger floor plans, and the laundry room is often nowhere near an exterior wall. That means thirty and forty foot vent runs with elbows the dryer was never rated for. Length is not a factor in our price. It is the whole reason the vent needs doing.
Interior Laundry Rooms And The Runs They Create
Walk through a home in Legacy, Lakemoor, Banbury Meadows or the foothills north of Floating Feather and you will notice the laundry room is deep in the floor plan — off a mudroom, beside the master closet, tucked between the garage and the kitchen. Wherever it is, it is usually a long way from the outside.
Most residential dryers are rated for about 25 feet of straight, rigid duct, and every 90-degree elbow subtracts roughly five feet from that. An Eagle run that goes 20 feet across a ceiling, turns twice, and climbs to a roof cap is already past the limit on the day the house is finished. The dryer cannot push air hard enough through it, so lint drops out sooner and the run fills faster than it would in a smaller home.
Some Eagle builders knew this and installed inline booster fans. Those help — until the fan itself is packed with lint, which is common and which we check.
A Long Run Is The Worst Case In The Numbers
The National Fire Protection Association's research on home fires involving clothes dryers and washing machines found "failure to clean" was the leading factor at 31%, with dust, fiber or lint the item first ignited in 27%. About two-thirds involved electric dryers.

What Eagle Air Puts In A Vent Cap
Eagle has two kinds of outside air. North of the river it is foothills — dry, dusty, windy, and it drives fine grit into any cap that faces the wind. Along the Boise River and Eagle Island it is cottonwoods, and every June the cottonwood fluff mats over vent caps and screens like insulation.
A packed cap does the same thing as a packed duct: it stops the air. On a long Eagle run that was already at the dryer's limit, it does not take much at the cap to tip it over. We clear the termination on every visit and make sure the flap seats on its own.
